Clear Past Notification Icons In Windows 7

Maybe some of You have notice this too, that after uninstalling software(s), icon(s) of the software(s) remaining in Notification Area Icons in Windows 7. You might uninstall a software using software(s), but I think it won't do any difference.

If You don't really care about the matter, then it won't bother You to do any method to get rid of the remaining icon(s).
But if You really care, then You should try this method that I am going to share. It has been tested to work (to tell You the truth, I got it from another source and I have tried it myself).

This method will require us to edit the registry. Go to Start, type Regedit and hit Enter. This will take you to Registry Editor, now navigate to the following key from the left sidebar:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\TrayNotify

Then right click on TrayNotify and left click on Export. Save it with any name that You wish for, but keep it with the reg file extention. You need to do the action for registry backup, just in case You want to restore it.

Now from the main window, delete both IconStreams and PasteIconsStream.
Hit Ctrl + Alt + Del to open Task Manager and kill explorer.exe process. Once done, repeat the same step to open Task Manager (because the Task Manager usually dissapear along with explorer.exe), go to File > Run, enter explorer.exe and hit Enter, this will start explorer.exe again. Till this step, I believe it can be applied both in Windows Vista and Windows 7.
Now right-click the clock in the system tray and hit Customize notification icons. You will see that all past icons have now been removed.
