Try Kaspersky 2012 for FREE

Even if this review is rather too late, I'd like to share it anyway with all of You, Guys. You might find it useful especially for You who have problems with viruses or other malwares.

Kaspersky tends to release their new major security software beta's around this time of the year, as evident from KAV 2010 and KIS 2010 beta release in April '09 and release of Final version of KAV 2011 and KIS 2011 by September last year after completion of beta testing. Sticking to the schedule Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 Beta is out now with some great new features and an completely revamped user-interface.

Major new features and improvements in KIS 2012 :
* Brand new interface with added support for touch screens.
* Makes use of improved "cloud" anti-malware technologies also known as Kaspersky Security Network to improve faster response to threats.
* Added reputation check of suspicious files via Kaspersky Security Network without executing them (right-click option).
* Significantly improvement in overall performance and efficiency reducing system load.
* Improved protection from unknown threats by analyzing activity of programs.
* New smart updater now downloads updates only for the active components of the product, also the update process is now optimized to have minimal impact on computer resources during the upgrade.
* Information about patterns of behavior triggered by software are now collected for analysis and reputation assessment in KSN database.
* Anti-spam module is now powered by Kaspersky Security Network and will no longer require training.
* Hugely improved technology for rootkit detection specially the ones which intercept boot sequence to hide.

The new KIS 2012 beta comes with a free trial activation for 91 days and can be downloaded from this links (just click the greater number, it's the newer one).

However, when you try to install a newer build on an existing installation the KIS 2012 BETA installer refuses to install the application displaying "Internal Error 2771" error, after trying things here and there I was able to install the new build.

Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 Installation Errors :
Internal Error 2771, SandboxFeature
Internal Error 2771, WholeProductFeature

To get past these errors all you need to do is to uninstall the previous build completely and reinstall using the newer build setup.

Always Update Your Knowledge About System's Security in General

I found-out recently that my article sometime ago (1  Easy and Free Way to Protect Your Removable Devices/Drive from Malwares) is not fully correct. The reason is it only protects Your devices/drive from malwares that using autorun as spreading method. So it's not resists from other malwares which is not using autorun.
Here, I give suggestions to You (I have these tips also from another sources), to keep Your Computer (PC/Notebook) secure, away from malwares (I personally always do these steps) :
  1. Don't assume anything. Make some time to learn about securing your system.
  2. Acquire and use a reliable antivirus program. Select an antivirus that has a consistent track record. Matousec.com, Checkmark, AV-Test.org and TuV are among the most respected independent testers of antivirus software.
  3. Acquire and use a reliable firewall solution. Again, independent reviewers are your best bet for reasonable choices. Some operating systems come with a firewall which only filters incoming traffic. Use a firewall that can control both incoming and outgoing Internet traffic.
  4. Do not open e-mails coming from unknown or distrusted sources. Many viruses spread via e-mail messages so please ask for a confirmation from the sender if you are in any doubt.
  5. Do not open the attachments of messages with a suspicious or unexpected subject. If you want to open them, first save them to your hard disk and scan them with an updated antivirus program.
  6. Delete any chain e-mails or unwanted messages. Do not forward them or reply to their senders. This kind of messages is considered spam, because it is undesired and unsolicited and it overloads the Internet traffic.
  7. Avoid installing services and applications which are not needed in day-by-day operations in a desktop role, such as file transfer and file sharing servers, remote desktop servers and the like. Such programs are potential hazards, and should not be installed if not absolutely necessary.
  8. Update your system and applications as often as possible. Some operating systems and applications can be set to update automatically. Make full use of this facility. Failure to patch your system often enough may leave it vulnerable to threats for which fixes already exist.
  9. Do not copy any file if you don't know or don't trust its source. Check the source (provenance) of files you download and make sure that an antivirus program has already verified the files at their source.
  10. Make backups of important personal files (correspondence, documents, pictures and such) on a regular basis. Store these copies on removable media such as CD or DVD. Keep your archive in a different location than the one your computer is in.

Use It Wisely!!!

Sometimes We might dealing with troublesome softwares or cought on unexpected events. I, myself, have dealing with it, just recently. When I do not use it, a software notification appears, out of nowhere.
First, I think the problem was solved by ending its process with Task Manager (default program in Windows). It did dissappear, but just for a couple minutes. I keep searching online for the answers of my problem, but they only told about stopping program from appearing at startup, not blocking programs that keeps on running without my consent.
Lucky me, that I used Kaspersky as my antivirus or Security Suite exactly, I opened my Kaspersky Internet Security interface, click on MY SECURITY ZONE, go to APPLICATION ACTIVITY, then pick RUNNING in CATEGORY, right click on the unwanted program in the list, change its status to UNTRUSTED. It's done, the annoying notification is terminated forever ^_^
